When the world is a little crazy and things aren’t going quite to plan, it is easy to feel overwhelmed.
Here are a few tips for how to refocus and tackle that overwhelm head-on.
Review your goals: are they unrealistic? Perhaps consider breaking them down into smaller targets.
Stop procrastinating: often the idea is worse than the reality of the task. Stop putting it off and just do it – you might be surprised why you put it off for so long.
Limit your time: give yourself a short period of time, like twenty minutes, to do something. If you can’t get it done or struggle to get into the swing of things during that time, walk away and come back to it when you’re in a different mindset.
Take it one day/task at a time: don’t worry about what might happen tomorrow or what might follow if you complete that task, just concentrate today. Your future self might just thank you!
Seek inspiration from elsewhere: talk the problem through; read a book or check out your Instagram hero to realign your perspective.
Remind yourself why you wanted to achieve that goal. Sometimes you can get so wrapped up in the task that you forget the why you aspired to achieve it.
Take a break: fresh eyes can often make all the difference.
Delegate: perhaps you have too much on – delegate what you can so you can refocus on the things that matter most.
